Abstract: The paper spotlights two modes of manufacturing with lath tool of complex surface, respectively with turning units of axial or radial feed. In the case of turning units with radial feed, it analyzes shortly the classically controlled turning units and the numerically controlled turning units, showing the elements that make the deference. Finely, it shows applications of radial turning units and axial turning units that are able to solve problems in economy.
