Abstract: The monitoring techniques in machine tools: condition and process, has developed considerably lately, moving from classic models to complex models. The purpose of the research is to determine an optimal method of online monitoring using both the signals supplied by the MT and those from the external sensors. The actual procedure considers a coupling between monitoring of machine parameters with parameters measured by additional sensors/transducers. The research focuses on the online monitoring system, being tested directly on the machine: current, vibration, temperature, noise, etc. as well as in case of a spindle failure situation. Spindle was monitored and diagnosed being identified the defect, while also obtaining the condition of operation until the repair.

Abstract: As society progresses towards a digitalized means of handling daily aspects of society, ICT technology will have an even greater influence on how people carry out their tasks. In light of recent events that have forced society to adapt to a digital world by means of Work from Home or Study from Home decisions that have been implemented during the pandemic, society tries to find solutions in technologies that have had a restricted field of operation. Blockchain technology and machine learning have been more and more visible during this period, and have been used to help people achieve their daily tasks, from automation to educational models. But as these technologies have been brought into the limelight, some issues have been noticed in regards to how people perceive them and also that there is a lack of formal education or training in these fields, which translates into the lack of defined skills and competencies. As such, the purpose of this paper is to identify the fields in which these technologies have been used during the pandemic and also identify if there is a lack of a clear list of skills and competencies associated with these technologies.

Key words: blockchain, artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning, skills, competences.

Abstract: Rapid economic and technological change, environmental problems, pandemics, and energy problems are determining continuous changes in businesses. It is necessary to use diagnostic frameworks to provide clear insights about a company. The use of several diagnostic frameworks substantially helps to get a conclusive picture of the organisation and leads to the point of setting up the necessary changes in the organisation. A brief overview of several organisational models allows us to understand what they contain and how they work. In this paper, we propose an organisational analysis model- a determination model- and exemplify it with a case study. For the analysis of the company that represented the case study, the model introduced in this article is used, as well as a questionnaire whose questions were scored from one to five points by members of the organisation. These questions lead to the scoring of complementarity factors introduced in this article. The comparison of these factors has made possible the analysis of the company. This analysis, as well as the conclusions, has been presented in this article. For higher accuracy of the investigations, the questionnaire was completed twice for the same company, in a period of almost one year, by two different people. The company operates in the field of electricity production.

Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) represents a watershed moment in our modern era, emerging as one of the greatest phenomena of the century due to its rapid growth. Prior to IoT, the World Wide Web made people's lives easier by providing web services and the ability to access personal data regardless of location. Then there was the need for increased efficiency, machine-to-machine communication, smart computing, and automation. The phenomenon of IoT and, later, the concept of Internet of Everything arose from this need (IoE). This article attempts to present the Internet of Everything concept, which began in the Internet of Things, by offering a concise description of what the Internet of Things is and how it has progressed.

Key words: internet of things, IoE applications, internet of everything, potential capability.

Parametric design used in generalized models of cutting tools

George CONSTANTIN1,*

1) Prof., PhD, Eng., Robots and Manufacturing Systems Department, University "Politehnica" of Bucharest, Romania

Abstract: The article deals with parametric design used for generation of generalized CAD models in connection with an Excel databases. The association of the CAD-database environment leads to the creation of models with multiple versions generated by parameters taken from the database or parameters calculated or chosen from values provided by catalogs or derived from design experience. Thus, the CAD model is customized by choosing various values of the dimensional parameters. Moreover, the generalized model contains 3D entities that belong to its various versions. They can be activated or deactivated depending on the desired version. The concept is applied and validated for a case study in the case of the parametric design of the generated model of a disc milling cutter.

Key words: disc milling cutter, CAD model, CAD parameters, calculated parameters, database, model versions.
